Results are FINALLY in for the 19th
postal match of Surplusrifle.com. Sorry folks it took
as long as it did, it’s summer time and there is like no
open time for anything beyond soccer games, weddings and
fieldwork. We started it with D-day and by the time
these results are out, we could be looking at the Battle
of the Bulge!
Not a bad turn out with 38 shooters
from all over the US as well as several in Europe. I
even was surprised to speak with Christian in Germany.
Turns out that he shoots at the range where I fired my
very first firearm and lives a mere few miles from where
we were when stationed in Germany. It’s a small world
with the Internet.
We really can’t make any
comparisons between the Axis and Allied shooters except
in Category 1C/D. And as it happens, there is not all
that much of a difference between the two in 50 yard
bench rest shooting. But it does, once again, show that
if you want the most accurate loads for target shooting,
your best bet is to use handloads.
