What is a postal match? More.....

In recent times there has been a mass influx of Enfields of all types.  People are buying them left and right and the Enfield rifle has become one of the most common mil-surp rifles around.  Even local hardware stores are/were carrying them at one time.

PLEASE NOTE, READ THROUGH THE RULES OF EACH MATCH THOROUGHLY BEFORE HEADING TO THE RANGE.  EACH MATCH IS UNIQUE AND MAY HAVE RULE CHANGES OVER PREVIOUS MATCHES.

Categories:

Descriptions:

Any Enfield- No1, No4, No5, NoX… in military configuration.  No sporterized stock replacements.  Non military sights as described below. 

Action- all categories, bolt action only

Iron sights- standard military issue.  Front sight adjustment for elevation okay.  Any sight replacement involving NO optical glass (either magnified or not) is okay.

Optic-  scoped rifles only

Offhand-  refers to standing, unsupported, not leaning against anything.  No competition type shooting jackets.  Slings okay.  Gloves okay.

Benched-  refers to shooting off of bench top.  Front support only (sandbag etc) okay.  No rear support, no gun cradles.  Use of hand/fist for rear support okay.  Slings okay.  No competition type shooting jackets.

Ammo-  any centerfire ammo (.303, 7.62 NATO, etc).  Any rimfire (.22) ammo okay.

1. You must use our downloaded target.
2. Each set of 3 targets per category must be accompanied by a filled out information sheet.  (see below)  If you use handloaded ammo, please consider sharing the information for others.  We are building a database of reload information for future pages of Surplusrifle.com. 
3. Please score your targets
4. Use 6 targets (max) per rifle per category.  Send us the best 3 rifle targets for your score.
5. Make sure that the black area of the bull is no larger than 6 inches across
6. Each shooter may send in ONE set of 3 targets in each category PER rifle.  Yes, you may shoot multiple rifles per category (i.e., you want to shoot a No 1, No 4 and a No 5, you shoot each and send in target sets for each in EACH category.)  Entry to door prize drawings will be ONE per shooter regardless of number of categories entered.

Scoring:

Prior to sending targets in, please SCORE YOUR OWN targets.  Scores will be verified prior to posting.  If you have questions about scoring, please contact us.

Standard scoring with an X count and a total score out of 150.   If there is a tie on score and X count, a size of group measurement will be used to break the tie.

Additional Rules:

1^st place certificates are awarded in a category where there 7 or less shooters

2^nd place certificates are awarded in a category where there are 8-15 shooters

3^rd place certificates are awarded in a category where there are 15+ shooters

Juniors are awarded 1^st place in a category if there are 1-3 junior shooters

Juniors are awarded 2^nd place in a category if there are 4-7 junior shooters

Juniors are awarded 3^rd place in a category if there are 8+ junior shooters

Junior rules:

Please note on entry form whether a shooter is a junior.  Juniors are eligible for door prizes, however, if not appropriate to the age level, their parent/guardian will have to accept the door prize.  

Awards:

There will be certificates sent to the top shooters in the group.  Door prizes will be selected at random from all qualified entries. 

Deadline:

Must be RECEIVED by 4/6/2006.  Any entries arriving after that date will be discarded.
