What is a postal match? More..... Theme: Recently, the forum of Surplusrifle.com lost one of its popular moderators. Charles Buckner (aka ARebelson) was a connoisseur of the Mosin-Nagant rifle and helped many of us out with answers to questions and keeping the forum on topic. He will be missed. To his memory, as well to draw the many different models and versions of the Mosin-Nagant rifles out to the range, we dedicate this match.
PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENT RULES ON NUMBER OF TARGETS SHOT FOR THIS MATCH.
Classes: Class 1: IRON SIGHT Mosin-Nagant action rifles. Any version, any model, any country. Class 2: SCOPED Mosin-Nagant action rifles. Any version, any model, any country.
Each entrant may shoot both classes. Ammunition: Any 7.62x54R ammo is allowed.
Distances: For Class 1 (non optic sights) 50 yards For Class 2 (optic sights) 100 yards
Position: Class 1. OFFHAND (STANDING) only. Unsupported, sling allowed if desired. Class 2. Any position is allowed. No rear sand bag or other rear support allowed. No “gun cradles” allowed. Slings are allowed. Front support is allowed for bench rested.
Targets:
Modified downloaded Surplusrifle.com SR-1. Maximum 6” across measurement for black area (please check your print outs). You must use our target! Shoot a maximum of SIX (6) targets and send in your best three for scoring. We are trying this out on the honor system. Three targets of 5 shots each. Each entrant is allowed ONE set of 3 targets for each class. Any extra targets sent will be discarded. On back of each target, please print legibility the following information:

Scoring: Standard scoring rules apply. Any shots less than 5 on target will be counted as a miss. Any shots over 5 on the target, the 5 LOWEST shots will be used for score.
Time allotted: Targets must be postmarked by October 31, 2004 to: Surplusrifle.com Postal #4 Prizes: Top shooter in each category will receive a certificate.
