Well, it was looking like the Warsaw shooters were going to take over by sheer numbers at first folks!  I just randomly opened up the envelopes after Jamie sent them to me.  It was a Warsaw shooter again and again and again…but then...just as “hope” was running out….a PACKET of targets from the North Mountain Gun Club, Nova Scotia, Canada!  Thanks for the hat guys! Our Allies came to the rescue and sent in a “squad’s” worth of shooters, all armed with Enfield No4’s no less!  The end result was a grand total of 26 shooters for the match.  There were 17 NATO target sets and 13 for the Warsaw Pact.

Best target, 100 yards, by Yancey D. with his original 1903A4 (50-3x)

The NATO category 1 shooters had a slightly higher average at 137.5 vs. 129.4.  NATO “snipers” out shot their Warsaw counterparts at 150 vs. 141.

Congratulations to the winners of the Categories, you will be mailed Surplusrifle.com certificates.

As for the door prizes:

Mel H. from Nova Scotia, Canada picks up a copy of Gun Digest Book of Assault Weapons put out by Krause Publications.

Robert T. of Pollock Pines, CA and Burton S. of Nova Scotia, Canada both pick up a Surplusrifle.com T-shirt.

I certainly hope that everyone had fun with the match.  Remember, as this was a memorial match, think back to the fall of the east bloc countries, that only occurred a mere 15 or so years ago.  Go out and buy a bag of jelly beans…

By the way, one shooter (you know who you are) sent in a dollar bill as a “bribe”…didn’t help much.  I’d have to say at least $10 will buy you a few extra X’s!   (just kidding, the $1 will go toward postage, thanks).

As always, if you have comments, please tell us!  And remember, a winner never quits and a quitter never wins.
