Match Results
SKS Shoot Out
(7.62x39)
Well, finally, here are the results for our postal match
number 2. Even with all the good intentions of getting
results out faster, we (Jamie and I) just cannot get it
done.
There were a total of 28 shooters who sent in targets!
That’s an ASTRONOMICAL number of shooters. I have shot in
NRA postal matches where there were only half as many
shooters. So kudos to each and every one of you for making
this match a big success.
We had a couple of firsts for this match. We had two
shooters that “attended” from Europe and three from Canada .
We also had, who I do believe, is our first female shooter
as well.
Of the 28 people that sent in target sets, 26 of them shot
Category 1 unmodified SKS rifles. Only one person was in
Category 2 (optical/modified SKS). There was only one
non-SKS rifle shot (yours truly converted 1916 Mauser) in
Category 3. There were no Category 4 shooters.
Here are the results, in order:

Category 2 will get printed certificates.
Drum roll please….. the winners of the door prizes are:
1. Steve O. SKS Bipod and butt extension -for the rifle, not
Steve!
2. Matt M. Blue Wonder Cleaner and Protectant
3. Hon. Joseph L. Surplusrifle.com SKS T-shirt
Some notes:
1. Please make sure and double check the SIZE of your black
area bull. It should be NO MORE than 6 inches across at the
max. There were a few that were pushing this.
2. Although you can print the targets on any paper you want,
consider using a heavier grade of paper. The bullet holes
are cleaner. I’m not complaining now…
3. We will do this one again, for sure. Any ideas for
changes, please contact one of us at surplusrifle.com. I
will ask Jamie and see when he thinks it would be a good
time to try this one again.
4. Consider shooting Match #3 (Cold War) with your SKS….
Hope everyone had fun. I see familiar names from Match 1 and
I see them moving up…
