Excalibur Publications, "British Firearms: The Lee Enfield Number 1 Rifles"  by Alan M. Petrillo

"This is the story of the rifles used by the British soldier during World War I -- the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield. The book shows full-length views of rifles, close-ups of actions, and parts of all Number 1 series rifles. It also provides a general history of the series, with chapters on each mark, ranging from the Mark I through the Mark VI. Models converted from earlier rifles also are included."

A short 64 page book covering the history of the main battle rifle used by Britain during WWI and as a back-up during WWII. If you are a fan or collector of the SMLE No.1 Mk series of rifle and all of its variants and want to know more about its history then this is the book. Note (and not a criticism): If you want to know about maintenance and operations, then this is not the book for you.

Jam packed with photos and diagrams.
