North Cape Publications "For Collectors Only: British Enfield Rifles, Lee-Enfield No. 4 and No. 5 Rifles, Vol. 2 " by Charles R. Stratton

"Since the publication of Volume 1 of "The British Enfield Rifles" series in 1997, collectors have loudly demanded the publication of Volume 2, covering the World War II-era "No. 4 and No. 5 Rifles."

Well, here it is at last. And Charles (Skip) Stratton, has done an outstanding job- again. He presents the No. 4 and No. 5 rifle part-by-part. Every single model, including the sniper rifles, target and match rifles and training rifles manufactured in the U.K., Canada, the U.S., Republic of South Africa and Pakistan is thoroughly described."

The For Collector's Only series of books focus on collecting military rifles. They follow a predefined format that includes information about the history of the rifle, different models and variations of the rifle, and the detailed breakdown of when and where the rifle and its individual parts were manufactured. The series of books are not Shop or How To manuals, but they are an excellent collector's guide.

British Enfield Rifles, Lee-Enfield No. 4 and No. 5 Rifles, appears as volume two in a series of five books on Enfield Rifles.

The Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 and Mk 2 rifles are my latest favorite rifles. I really am enamored with the engineering quality of these rifles and their overall accuracy. Because of this book I now know what I am buying even before I plunk down the money and bring the rifle home. My copy of the book is full of highlighted passages as a quick reference about guns that I am researching or have purchased already.

The "For Collectors Only" series of books are designed to help you become a more educated collector. Kind of like having a good friend with you that knows all about the No. 4 and No. 5 rifles. With the release of British Enfield Rifles, Lee-Enfield No. 4 and No. 5 Rifles, Charles Stratton is that friend.
