North Cape Publications "For Collectors Only: The M1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations" by Joe Poyer

"The Model 1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations" is 456 pages long with six color plates and hundreds of black and white drawings and photos. Format is perfect bound, 8.5 x 5.5 inches. Every part is illustrated in detail either in a drawing or photo. As the book covers the entire range of the Model 1903 rifle from the rod bayonet to the M1903A4 sniper rifle."

Although the Springfield Armory made many different rifles for the US Army over the years, when anyone says "Springfield Rifle", the '03 is the rifle that comes to mind.

This book is definitely for the ‘03 collector, covering all models from inception to the 1903A4, with data on every known model and also the unique and rare. Includes a description of every part and deviation by model; for a 6x9 book, this is one of the thickest, 456 pages and over an inch and a half thick! Great exploded diagrams and lots and lots of photos lead you over the history trail of the famous rifle.

I finally own my very own 03A3 and wanted to know more about my rifle. You need to know that I have wanted a '03 for as long as I have owned rifles. Joe Poyer’s book told me everything I ever wanted to know about ammunition, types of 1903 scopes, bayonets, stock types, barrels, bolts, front sight covers, slings, tools, and everything else ever associated or issued with the ’03.  Also has extensive information on markings, stamps, cartouches, and serial numbers.

Note: This is not a disassemble and maintenance type of book.
