"These rifles were the product of less than a century of intense modernization during which Japan was transformed from an agrarian, feudal society into a modern industrial nation." - Author

One of the shortest firearm books I have read - but that is very misleading. Mr. McCollum's book is jam packed with photos and information that I have found invaluable in doing research and providing answers to questions.

Japanese Rifles of World War II includes a guide to all markings and cartouches found on the carbines and rifles as well as estimated production quantities by arsenal. Very useful tables and detailed photos containing sequential production variations in models so you can tell when your Arisaka was made. Covers rare variants including sniper rifles of each model type with large photos.

Over-all this is a must have book for the Arisaka collector.
