Sights

The dovetailed front sight is an inverted V and is adjustable for windage. Adjustment is similar to most military rifles with the same type of sight.  Just tape the sight to the left or right using a mallet and non-marring drift. Remember, you move the front sight in the opposite direction you want the desired point of impact to be on the target.

Ex: If you needed the point of impact to move further right - You would move the front sight to the left.

The fixed rear sight is a milled integral sight that is part of the frame. The notch is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top.

Safety

The Type 14's safety is located on the left side of the pistol above the trigger guard.  When the safety is moved to the forward position it is in the "Fire" position. When the safety is in the rear position it is in "Safe" position and will not fire.

Load and Unload

To load the Type 14 pistol make sure the safety is in the forward position and insert a loaded magazine into the magazine well, pushing it forward until it clicks and locks in place. Pull back on the cocking piece as far back as it can be pulled and then let go and allow it to slide forward stripping a cartridge from the clip and loading it into the chamber.

To unload the Type 14 pistol make sure the safety is in the forward position. Depress the magazine release and remove the magazine. Pull back on the cocking piece as far back as it can be pulled and eject any loaded cartridges. Repeat this step as a safety measure until you are certain the pistol is unloaded.
