1)
Make sure rifle is unloaded. Make
certain the safety is in the forward
position.

Lift the rear sight leaf.
3)
Depress the bolt head catch. Pull the bolt to the rear. When the bolt
head is over the bolt head catch allow the
bolt head catch to push the bolt head
upwards. Rotate the bolt head counter
clockwise until its flat side points to
twelve o'clock as shown in figure 3.

Remove the bolt.
5)
Depress the magazine catch and remove the
magazine.
6)
Unscrew the swivel screw.
7)
Remove the swivel screw.
8)
Remove the swivel.
9)
Slide the stock band forward.
10)
Remove the stock band.
11) Remove the hand
guard.
12) Unscrew the front trigger guard screw.
13) Remove the front trigger guard screw.
14) Unscrew the rear trigger guard screw.
15) Remove the rear trigger guard screw.
16) Do not force the trigger guard out. If
the trigger guard is stick in place lightly
tap on the sides of the arch until it can be
easily removed.
17) If the fore-end is tight or stuck you
can use a piece of wood and tap lightly at
the top rear of the fore-end on both sides
until the fore-end can be removed easily.
18) Lift the fore-end straight off of the
receiver. Do not pivot the stock off.
19) Unscrew the upper butt plate screw.
20) Remove the upper butt plate screw.
21) Unscrew the lower butt plate screw.
22) Remove the lower butt plate screw.
23) Remove the butt plate.
24) Insert large flat blade screwdriver into
butt stock and place in groove of stock
bolt. Using large pliers, unscrew the stock
bolt counter-clockwise.
25) Remove the stock bolt.
26) Remove butt stock.
27) Unscrew the locking bolt screw.
28) Remove the locking bolt screw.
29) Remove the locking bolt spring.
30) Remove the locking bolt and safety
catch.
31) You do not have to separate the locking
bolt and safety catch I usually leave
assembled and just set aside. For these
instructions I separated them.
32) Tap the retaining pin upwards.
33) Remove the retaining pin.
34) Tap out the rear sight pin.
35) Remove the rear sight pin.
36) Remove the rear sight.
37) Remove the rear sight plunger.
38) Remove the rear sight plunger spring.
39) Depress the front of the sear spring and
move it out of the notch in the rear of the
magazine catch.
40) Remove the sear spring.
41) Push out the sear pin.
42) Remove the sear pin.

Remove the sear.
44) Unscrew the magazine catch screw.
45) Remove the magazine catch screw.
46) Remove the magazine catch.
47) Remove the bolt head catch plate.
48) Remove the bolt head catch spring.
49) Remove the bolt head catch.
Reassembly

50) Insert the bolt head catch.
51) Insert the bolt head catch spring.
52) Place the magazine catch in place.
53) Set the bolt head catch plate in place.
54) While holding the magazine catch and
bolt head catch plate in place, insert the
magazine catch screw. The magazine catch
screw threads into the bolt head catch
plate.
55) Tighten the magazine catch screw.
56) Insert the sear and sear pin.
57) Place the long end of the sear spring in
the notch in the sear. Using a screw driver
compress the front of the sear spring and
place it into the notch in the rear of the
magazine catch.
58) Replace the rear sight plunger spring.
59) Insert the rear sight plunger as shown
in figure 59 with the flat side pointing
towards the right side of the rifle.
60) Replace the rear sight and insert the
rear sight pin.
61) Turn the rear sight pin until the hole
is vertical and aligned with the groove in
the left side of the receiver.
62) Insert the retaining pin.
63) Tap in the retaining pin.

The top of the retaining pin should be flush
with the top of the receiver.
65) Figure 65 shows the locking bolt and
safety catch correctly assembled prior to
installation.
66) Assemble the locking bolt and safety
catch.
67) Install the locking bolt and safety
catch.
68) Replace the safety spring.
69) Reinstall the locking bolt screw. Hand
tighten so the locking bolt screw is snug,
but the safety still functions easily.
70) Reinsert butt stock into butt socket.
71) Insert the stock bolt.
72) Insert a large flat blade screw driver
into the butt stock trap. Using a pair of
pliers, turn large flat blade screw driver
clockwise until stock bolt is tight.
73) Install the butt plate.
74) Install the upper
butt plate screw.
75) Tighten the upper
butt plate screw.
76) Install the lower
butt plate screw.
77) Tighten the lower
butt plate screw.
78) Slide the hand guard
retaining ring to the rear of the barrel up
against the front of the receiver. Make sure
it is upright.

Slide the fore-end stock till it snuggly
rests up against the butt socket (as shown
in figure 79).
80) If needed, tap lightly with
a non marring tool such as a wooden dowel on
both sided of the rear of the fore-end
stock.

Replace the trigger guard.
82)
Replace rear guard screw.
83)
Reinstall the front trigger guard screw.
84)
Tighten the front guard screw.
85) Tighten the rear guard screw.

Replace the hand guard.
87)
Spread slightly the band and slide over the
barrel.

Replace the band on the stock.
89) Replace the swivel.
90)
Replace the swivel screw.

Tighten the swivel screw.

Lift the rear sight leaf. Make certain the safety is in the
forward position. Insert the bolt with the
flat side of the bolt head pointing to
twelve o'clock.
93)
Depress the bolt head catch.
94) Rotate the bolt head to
clockwise to the three o'clock position.
95)
Push the bolt forward. Lower the rear sight
leaf.
