The Swedish m/38 Rifle (manufactured from 1941 to 1943) is based upon the design of the Swedish m96-38 rifle which was a modified m/96 rifle with a new shorter barrel. The barrel length of the m/38 is only 23.1 inches which is six inches shorter than the m/96 Swedish Mauser. The m/38 was a new production rifle with only minor differences from the m/96 including shorter overall length, a new sight, and bent bolt. The m/38 retains all of the quality, grace, and beauty that is indicative of the Swedish Mausers.

Note the bent bolt of the m/38.

Note the rear sight has the letter "T" stamped at the top of it. This denotes that the sight is calibrated for the m/91/41 139 grain bullet. Also the sight functions differently than a typical Swedish Mauser rear sight. The elevator bar is moved forward on the m/38 to increase elevation where on the typical m/96 the elevator bar moves from front to back to increase elevation.

Note "HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG 1941"  stamped on receiver. The m/38 was made at Husqvarna between 1941 and 1944.
