Loading  and Unloading

Load .30-06 cartridges into the Garand enbloc clip staggered one at a time.

 

 

 

 

To load a loaded enbloc clip, pull back on the operating rod handle to the rear of the receiver until it locks into place.

Figure 7 shows the Garand safety in the "fire" or "off" position.

Push the safety to the rear.

Figure 9 shows the safety in the "safe" or "on" position.

With your right hand insert a loaded enbloc clip into the receiver.

Push down on the loaded clip until it locks.

Using the palm of your right hand push the operating rod forward.

Lock the bolt in its forward position.

To unload, pull back on the operating rod and extract the loaded cartridge.

While holding back the operating rod depress the magazine catch on the left of the receiver.

The clip and remaining cartridges will be ejected from the receiver.

Remove the clip and allow the operating rod and bolt to move forward.
