Last year, almost to the very day, I announced that Surplusrifle.com (SRC) was shutting down do the fact that I had Cancer. The website at the time cost many hundreds of dollars per month to run and as a result we sold CDs and printed Manuals to cover the costs. The investment in time and labor to keep up with volume of orders and maintaining the website was just too much for me to handle. I gave the website to Layne King of Tennessee Gun Parts to run.

I had a roller coaster year. At times I was actually given an estimate of weeks to months to live if the chemo was not working. "All" of my hair fell out and my wife says that is a hell of a lot of hair. I went through several surgeries and the chemo treatments. I had so many blood transfusions that I thought I might be a vampire. At one time my skin turned a pasty white, I had black rings under my eyes, and my head is naturally shaped like an egg. I wished it was Halloween because I was a dead ringer for Uncle Fester from the Adam's family.

Finally after the chemo was finished I had my first CT exam that came back as cancer free. That same day my Daughter graduated from college and it was my 24th wedding anniversary. All around it was a phenomenal day. The chemo caused post effects of Peripheral Neuropathy. I lost about half my strength and almost all of the nerves in my feet and hands. But, I was alive! Slowly but surely my strength is returning and at least the feeling in my hands is returning. Hence this article.

Layne King who now owns and runs SRC asked me if R. Ted Jeo, Mark Trope, and I would be interested in writing an article each month for the website. I missed it greatly and so did Ted and Mark so it was an easy decision. We have decided to move over five of the articles from Firearmreflections.com that fit in with the overall theme of SRC and then shut down Firearmreflections.com devoting all of our time and efforts to SRC.

Starting in December we will launch the first set of NEW monthly articles. Every month following we will publish at least three brand new articles on SRC. The project articles, reviews, and range reports are back!
