Sights

Adjusting the Rifle's Front Sights

Earlier model of the Type 38 sight. The ladder is graduated from 400 meters to 2400 meters in steps of 100 meters. Later sights were only graduated to 2200 meters.
The sight has a battle sight that can be used while laying flat or lifted up. The gradient tangent is accessed when the sight is lifted as shown above and then the sight can be lowered or raised.

Safety Operation

The Type 38 safety is fairly simple to operate. It has two positions, Safe or Ready. The safety in the Ready position is shown in the photo above.

To engage the Type 38 safety, push in with the palm of your hand (as shown in the photo above) and rotate the safety clockwise as shown. To disengage push in with the palm of your hand and rotate the safety counter clockwise.
The photo above shows the safety engaged or in the Safe position.
