Click here to see larger image! 1) Open the bolt as show in figure 1. Open the bolt stop/release and remove the bolt.
Click here to see larger image! 2) Inside and forward of the trigger guard, depress the magazine release.

Click here to see larger image! 4) Loosen the rear guard screw.
Click here to see larger image! 5) Remove the rear guard screw.

Click here to see larger image! 8) Slide the follower spring out of the groove in the magazine cover.
Click here to see larger image! 9)  Remove the follower, and follower spring and set the assembly aside.
Click here to see larger image! 10) Remove the trigger guard/magazine assembly from the stock by pulling it straight up.

13) Remove the muzzle/front sight guard.
14) Loosen the rear bayonet lug screw.

Click here to see larger image! 17) Remove the front bayonet lug screw.

Click here to see larger image! 19) Loosen the front swivel screw.
Click here to see larger image! 20) Depress the retaining spring and slide the front swivel band forward.

Click here to see larger image! 22) Loosen the rear sight base screw.

Click here to see larger image! 24) Lift out the barreled receiver and set aside.
Click here to see larger image! 25) Carefully lift the front of the handguard slightly to disengage the rear band spring from the barrel.
Click here to see larger image! 26) Lift the rear sight and pivot the handguard sideways as shown in figure 26.
Click here to see larger image! 27) Remove the handguard.

Reassembly Instructions

Click here to see larger image! 28) Lift the rear sight and slide on the handguard sideways as shown in figure 28.
29) Rotate the handguard as shown in figure 29.
30) Press down on the rear of the handguard to engage the band spring around the rear of the barrel.
31) Replace the barreled receiver into the carbine's stock.
32) Pivot the front swivel band around the front sight.
33) Depress the retaining spring and slide the front swivel band into place.
34) Tighten the front swivel screw.
35) Replace the bayonet lug.
36) Replace the rear bayonet lug screw.
37) Replace the front bayonet lug screw.
38) Tighten the rear bayonet lug screw.
39) Tighten the front bayonet lug screw.
40) Replace the muzzle/front sight guard.
41) Replace the muzzle/front sight guard screw.
42) Tighten the muzzle/front sight guard screw.
43) Reinstall the rear sight base screw.
44) Tighten the rear sight base screw.
45)  Replace the trigger guard/magazine assembly.
46) Insert the front guard screw.
47) Tighten the front guard screw.
48)  Install the rear guard screw.
49) Tighten the rear guard screw.
50) Slide the follower spring into the groove in the magazine cover.
51) Close and latch the magazine cover.
52) Reinsert the bolt.
53) Close and lock the bolt.
